About the Arrows Archery Program

The 2025-26 season is the 5th season for the Arrows Christian Academy archery team.

Our elementary team is 4th-5th grade and our middle school team is 6th-8th grade.

We also have a 3rd-grade team focused on fundamentals and fun.

Our sights are set on competing again at the state and national levels.

Here are some highlights from the past two seasons:

2023-24
- Our elementary team got on the podium for the first time, taking 3rd place at the Pennsylvania State 3D championship
- Our middle school team broke the 3000 team score barrier
- Both teams qualified for the National Tournament (Louisville, KY) in both bullseye and 3D
- Our team shot in the World 3D outdoor tournament in WV this past August
2024-25
- The elementary team took the bronze medal in the PA state 10/15m bullseyse tournament.
- The elementary team placed 4th in the PA state 3D championship.
- The middle school team placed 9th in the state 10/15m bullseye tournament.
- The middle school team placed 4th in the state 3D championship.
- We had our first individual state champion. Seraphim Danevicius was the Pennsylvania state champion in middle school 10/15 meters!
- Team records were broken. Our middle school team shot a 3125 10/15m bullseye score and 1552 3D team score.
- Both teams qualified for the National Tournament (Louisville, KY) in both bullseye and 3D

Archery Program FAQs

Who can participate? Arrows Christian Academy students and local homeschooled students

What ages/grades? Students in grades 3-12

When is the season? December through March

Where are practices? The old Keith Jr. High gym in Altoona

How often does the team practice? Each student practices 1x/week with coaches and has the option to shoot at ‘additional range time’ on Saturday mornings.

Are there coaches? The Arrows coaching staff has experienced and certified archery coaches.

Is equipment provided? Students can either rent or buy equipment.

Do you have to know how to shoot archery to participate? No experience necessary.

Can you try archery first? We have a ‘try archery’ night on Monday, October 20th at 6 pm. Fill out the form below to register.
